I want to fix a speaker's wrong name

Correct speakers who have no name or the wrong name after speaker separation. You can fix a speaker everywhere or on a single line.

On this page

What's happening

The transcript has an unnamed speaker like “Speaker B”. Or someone else's name is attached.

Where to look first

In the [Transcript] tab of an ended meeting, look at the speaker name above each line. The [Unassigned N] button shows how many speakers are left.

Try these steps

Clicking a speaker name and choosing an attendee.
  1. Check that “Separating speakers” is gone You can assign speakers once separation is finished.
  2. Look at the attendee list in the [Details] tab Check whether the person is there.
  3. If they're not listed, add them with [Add participant] You can then choose them as a speaker.
  4. Click the speaker name to fix in the [Transcript] tab A menu for choosing the speaker opens.
  5. Look at the scope options at the bottom of the menu They are [Apply to all of this speaker's lines] and [Apply to this line only]. The default is all lines.
  6. To fix one line, choose [Apply to this line only] Set the scope before you choose a name.
  7. Type a name in [Search by name] Matching attendees appear in a list.
  8. Choose the attendee It applies right away with the scope you set.
  9. Move to the remaining speakers with [Unassigned N] Go to the next speaker and assign it the same way.
  10. To start over, click [Reset all assigned speakers] It's at the very bottom of the [Speakers] panel.
